New Hartford has been a groundbreaking school district for many years in the area of technology and the use of online services.
With that being the case it is imperative that we protect our students from the dangers on the internet and the world wide web.
We take serious precautions in protecting students. Some of the systems we use in accomplishing this task are:
- Web Filtering System – Light Speed
- Virus and Malware Protection: Cylance AI Protection and Microsoft Security Essentials
- NYSED Ed Law 2D, COPPA and FERPA compliance
We are also one of the first schools to use G-Suite For Education.
Our e-mail and Google Docs are fully protected under the Google Apps for Education agreement.
Students are protected by only having the ability to email within our school’s domain. They can not send or receive emails from outside entities unless authorized by the Information Technology Department.
