“Fifth Grader, Mikey Butler, has become New York’s first-ever two-time Trinity Award winner in youth wrestling—one of the sport’s most difficult and prestigious accomplishments. He secured this milestone by winning Reno Worlds in Reno, NV this past weekend, capturing the final piece needed to earn the Trinity. Reno Worlds featured elite competition from nearly all 50 states, as well as international athletes from Spain, Tokyo, Russia, Japan, and Italy.
The Trinity Award, presented by World of Wrestling, is earned only by wrestlers who win all three of the nation’s most competitive youth tournaments in a single season: Tulsa Nationals, Reno Worlds, and the WOW Kickoff Classic. Winning just one of these events is a major feat—winning all three in the same year requires an exceptional level of skill, consistency, and mental toughness.
To put this into perspective, only five youth wrestlers from New York have ever won the Trinity Award even once. Mikey has now done it twice—setting himself apart not just in our state, but across the entire country.
In addition to this milestone, Mikey is currently ranked #1 in the nation by World of Wrestling in his age and weight division (10U, 80 lbs), further solidifying his place among the elite young wrestlers in the United States.”
Congratulations, Mikey!
