Dear New Hartford Central School District community,

After 17 years of service to the New Hartford Central School District, Dean of Students Tim Crowe will retire at the end of August. I would like to thank Mr. Crowe for his dedication to the students and district, especially at the high school.

While we can never replace Mr. Crowe, I am pleased to announce Matt Romanow has accepted the permanent role as Dean of Students at the high school. He will begin in his new position by Sept. 1.

In March, the board appointed Mr. Romanow to serve as the Secondary Dean of Students at Perry through the end of the 2022-23 school year. Mr. Romanow has been with the district since May 2013 and prior to his March appointment, worked as a mathematics teacher at the Senior High School.

The district continues to move forward in the hiring process for Secondary Dean of Students. I anticipate making a recommendation for hire at the board of education meeting June 13, at which time an update will be shared.

I am excited for the district’s bright future and I appreciate the staff’s, students’, families’ and community members’ patience as we navigate personnel changes. Please do not hesitate to reach out regarding any questions or concerns.
