Superintendent’s update on administrative staffing changes

March 9, 2023

Dear New Hartford Central School District community,

Last week I announced the upcoming departure of Andre Paradis, principal at Ralph W. Perry Junior High School, and Judeanne Rockford, principal at Myles Elementary School, from their respective roles as they take the next step in their careers outside of the New Hartford Central School District. Mr. Paradis’s final day at Perry will be Thursday, March 23 and Mrs. Rockford’s final day at Myles will be Friday, March 24.

District leadership continues to work diligently to address the administrative vacancies before the end of the month. I will make my recommendation to the Board of Education, at its March 21 meeting, to appoint Michael Sinacore as the Ralph W. Perry Junior High School Principal.

Mr. Sinacore currently serves as the Secondary Dean of Students at Perry and has been with the district since July of 2020. I am confident his dedication to students and tenacity for their success will help him excel in this role.

In anticipation of Mr. Sincaore’s appointment as principal, the district is posting the open positions of Principal of Myles Elementary School and Secondary Dean of Students with a tentative start date of July 1, 2023.

As the district moves forward with the hiring process, I am pleased to announce Matt Romanow, teacher at the Senior High School, has accepted the new role of Interim Secondary Dean of Students at Perry for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year. Mr. Romanow will begin in this temporary position Monday, March 13. His current students and their families will receive more information Thursday, March 9, regarding the transition plan for his classes.

It’s a testament to the district faculty and staff that we have exceptional educators ready to step into these leadership roles.

An interim principal at Myles Elementary School has yet to be determined, but I am hopeful there will be an update to share in the coming weeks as the district continues to work toward filling the administrative vacancies.

Sincerely,

Cosimo Tangorra, Jr., Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
