The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is collecting data regarding digital resource access for all students in New York. The survey will provide information on student access to devices and internet access in their places of residence.
The information will assist educators to better serve students and families. In order to accomplish this, NYSED is asking parents/guardians or students to complete a Digital Equity Survey. A survey is requested for each student in grades K–12. As a result, parents/guardians of students in kindergarten - grade 2 will receive a survey via School Messenger on Thursday, November 18. Students in grades 3-12 will complete the survey in school. The survey consists of nine questions and responses to the survey are due by Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
This survey's purpose is to assess student access to technology at home and to aid educators to better serve students. This survey is not indicating a switch to remote learning.
