District Emergency Response Information

The District has multiple response scenarios at its disposal.  Below you will find a brief description to help dispel any confusion one may have differentiating between responses. 

Please note, there is a distinct difference between a LOCKOUT and LOCKDOWN.



SHELTER-IN-PLACE
Used to shelter students and staff inside the building.

 

HOLD-IN-PLACE: Used to limit movement of students and staff while dealing with short term emergencies.

 

EVACUATEUsed to evacuate students and staff from the building.

 

LOCKOUTUsed to secure school buildings and grounds during incidents that pose an imminent concern outside of the school.

 

LOCKDOWNUsed to secure school buildings and grounds during incidents that pose an immediate threat of violence in or around the school.
