PTAs welcome parent participation for student enrichment

Sept. 5, 2023

The New Hartford Central School District offers various opportunities for parents/guardians to participate at both the district and building levels.

Each school within the district has its own parent-teacher association or PTA. The PTA seeks to support students and the school community.

There is also a district-wide PTA, as well as a New Hartford Special Education Parent Teacher Student Association (SEPTSA), which is dedicated to the advocacy for special needs and/or gifted and talented students in all schools within the district.

Each PTA promotes parent/guardian engagement with the school community in an effort to enhance students’ experiences.

PTAs are non-profit organizations that foster the relationships between home, school and the community. With a focus on enriching the school community, PTAs provide programs, events, opportunities, volunteers and resources to their schools.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to get involved by contacting their respective PTA(s). Contact information for each PTA can be found under the “PTA” section of the district website

Information regarding PTA meetings is available on the district website calendar.
