The high school has been named a "2016 National Blue Ribbon School."
The school was one of nine high schools recognized in New York State.

Niche, a website dedicated to data-based lifestyle decisions, ranked New Hartford Senior High as one of the best sports schools in the nation. Niche bases its rankings on federal data and user surveys.
Veteran columnist Jay Matthews, who oversees the Post's annual "High School Challenge," evaluates schools that best prepare students for the rigors of college.
New Hartford Senior High School was recognized as a Gold Medal School which is the highest ranking! The U.S. News rankings consider more than 28,000 public high schools in the nation.
From NAMM: "The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of the curriculum. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education."
From Hamilton College Website: "Some 60 students roamed the Taylor Science Center with teachers and chaperones, exploring different scientific disciplines. Professor of Psychology Jen Borton demonstrated interactions between the brain and the eye through optical illusions. The third-graders then broke into smaller groups for hands-on rotations through the biology, chemistry and physics departments."
