District administration works to develop a budget that supports the district’s vision and provides for the needs of all students while maintaining the fiscal responsibility owed to the community at large.
Each spring the board of education adopts a school budget proposal for the coming school year to be put up for a community vote. In New York state, school district budget votes take place on the third Tuesday in May.

Voters approve 2023-24 budget proposal
On May 16, New Hartford Central School District voters approved the district’s $62,818,363 2023-24 budget proposal, elected one board of education member and approved the purchase of five new student transportation vehicles.

2023-24 Budget Summary
The proposed budget will allow the district to continue to provide exceptional educational programs that enable students to excel as lifelong learners and leaders while simultaneously providing a good value to the taxpayer with minimal impact on the tax levy.

One candidate seeking one open seat on the board of education
On May 16, voters will elect one district resident to serve on the New Hartford Board of Education. One candidate filed a nominating petition for the one available seat: Linda Lark.

Voters to decide on bus replacement proposition
On May 16, voters will decide on a school bus purchasing proposition, which includes the purchase of three 66-passenger buses, one 30-passenger bus and one 7-passenger suburban.
