FOR RELEASE: IMMEDIATE October 24, 2016
This fall, the entire New Hartford Central School community has been invited to “like” their school district on Facebook and “follow” the district on Twitter. These Facebook and Twitter accounts are officially maintained by the school district. District officials hope that these social media tools will allow all district stakeholders to stay informed about academic achievements, artistic endeavors, and athletic accomplishments. Social media content will focus on the two cornerstones of the school district: teaching and learning.
“Our Board of Education realizes that everyone is ‘on the go’ these days,” says Superintendent of Schools Robert J. Nole, “and we all know that it becomes difficult sometimes for families to keep track of all the wonderful opportunities that are offered in our schools. Along with our website--as well as local media outlets--we hope social media helps us share our story.”
The first official tweet and post celebrated New Hartford Senior High School’s recognition as a “2016 National Blue Ribbon School” by the US Department of Education. Subsequent news featured the unveiling of the new “Helen Sperling Large Group Instruction Room” as well as recent accomplishments by students and faculty.
