•  "Mathematics reveals hidden patterns that help us understand the world around us. "

Hidden patterns? Is this a treasure hunt? Is there more to discover? Yes, perhaps there will always be more math to discover, but we, of course, need to understand addition, subtraction, multiplication and division first before we know how to arrange these skills into patterns to solve new problems. For example, scientists most often have these grand ideas about how the world works, ideas that could change all of our lives, but until they can produce the math computations to prove that their ideas have a pattern, their theories will not hold much weight. (watch COSMOS for great stories on some of these scientists!) There is magic in math and we will be creating patterns in our designs and programming. By the way, if you want to be captivated by matheMAGIC watch the few clips below from Arthur Benjamin. Although some of us may never human calculators like this, perhaps we can see the FUN and the beauty that mathematics creates. The more you practice, the more you learn, the more you will discover the hidden patterns in the world around us.
