• I am excited that you are joining me in the pursuit of becoming highly effective communicators! You will hone your skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and using language. Why? Well, to quote Roger Maris, "You hit home runs not by chance but by preparation." Your "home runs" are your goals and dreams. One of MY "home runs" for you is to prepare NOW to be college and career ready. I know, I know. It sounds so far away, but trust me, it isn't. As Stephen Covey often says, "Begin with the end in mind."

    Therefore, keeping the end in mind, we will take baby steps toward the above goals. Through the use of both fiction and non-fiction texts, ample writing opportunities, and rich discussions, you will grow in all of these areas. The best part? If I do my job well, you'll enjoy yourself along the way!
