  • I am starting my 20th year as a Resource Room teacher at Hughes Elementary School.  Prior to that I taught for 2 years in Guilderland, NY and 1 year in Virginia.

I grew up in Chatham, NY and moved to Ballston Spa, NY when I was 14.  I attended Ballston Spa High School and went on to SUNY Cortland.  There I received my undergraduate degree in Physical Education.  After graduating from Cortland, I went on to The College of Saint Rose and got my master's degree in Special Education.

When I first started at New Hartford 20 years ago, I coached football, basketball and lacrosse all at the Jr. High level.  With the arrival of my children, coaching became too time consuming and I had to take a break from it.  Now I coach my kids' basketball and lacrosse teams.

My wife, Heather, is a second grade teacher at Bradley Elementary.  My daughter, Kylie, is entering 5th grade at Hughes and my son, Gavin, is in 4th grade this fall.  I'm pretty lucky to be able to work at the same school where my kids go.  After 20 years of watching other kids walk the halls, it's pretty funny seeing my own there.

In my free time, I like to go to the movies, workout, walk my dog, Dewey and spend time at the family camp on 4th Lake in Old Forge.  I ran the Boilermaker for the 12th time this year but I really don't like to run very much.
