Latin 2Welcome to Latin 2. This year we will build on our skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Latin, which we learned in Latin 1A & 1B. Students will read more challenging selections with confidence and are able to comprehend new Latin at sight. The exploration of Roman culture moves to another level, from the daily life experienced in the first year to military, frontier, and public life. Authentic materials used include sententiae, graffiti, inscriptions, and simple selections form Latin authors. Membership and participation in the National Junior Classical League and Latinalia (Latin-day at Syracuse University) are encouraged. We will be using the textbook Ecce Romani Book I & II and we will be using chapters 26-40 in the textbook.
