• Latin 1B

Welcome to Latin 1B, which is the second half of Latin 1. This year we will continue the process of learning how to read, listen, speak and write in Latin. We will also be learning about the mythology, culture and history of the Romans. We will be using the basic structure of a Latin sentence from last year and add to it, to become proficient in writing Latin. The textbook stories follow a fictitious family as they live through real historic events. Our Roman family, the Cornelii, experience a variety of situations, which allow students to gain an appreciation of Roman culture and understand its significance in the modern world. Membership and participation in the National Junior Classical League

and Latinalia (Latin-day at Syracuse University) are encouraged. We will be using the textbook Ecce Romani Book I and we will be using chapters 11-25 in the textbook.
