New Hartford students may participate in the 2019 BOCES Regional Summer School Program held at Proctor Senior High School.  A shuttle bus will be provided for classes, tutorial sessions, and Regents Exams.  A bus will pick up students at the Senior High School and Perry at 7:15 a.m. for first period, 9:05 a.m. for second period and 11:10a.m. for the tutorial.  Return shuttles will run at the end of each period.  The shuttle bus provided for the Regents Exams days is at 7:45am for the morning Exam and 11:45am for the afternoon Exam.  The return shuttle for the Regents Exams will be at 11:30am and 3:30pm.

    Students may register with their counselor until NOON on Wednesday, June 26.

    Students have the following Summer School options:

    1)  Students enrolled in one or two classes will attend from Monday, July 1, 2019, through Monday, August 12, 2019.  Classes are held Monday through Thursday with no classes July 4.  There are two class periods (8:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. and 9:50 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.).


    The classes listed below are available to New Hartford students wishing to repeat a course they took during the school year.  

    To be eligible to enroll in a repeat course, a student must have been enrolled in the entire course during a regular school year.  The student must have earned a minimum final course grade of 55 in the school year or have a minimum grade of 65 in the final marking period of the course.

    2) The following classes are available for New Hartford students to take for the first time in summer school:

    3) A Regents Tutorial is also available July 25th – August 12, 2019 (Monday thru Thursday) from 12:00p.m. to 2:00p.m.  This is available for students who passed a course but wish to raise their Regents exam score. The tutorial program consists of structured review with a teacher.


    4) Students may also choose to register solely for a Regents Walk-in Exam if they have passed the course, but wish to raise their exam score.  Although students are not required to complete tutoring hours, it is highly recommended that students have a structured review plan.  Experience has shown that without such a plan, students do not usually increase their score in August!  (Students registering only for an exam must attach a photograph to their registration form.)

     ** All students taking the Earth Science Regents Exam must take the performance test.   A student who does not take the performance test will not be allowed, under any circumstance, to take the Regents.  Those students who are only taking the Walk-in Regents Exams will have to take the performance test on Monday, August 12, 2019, at Proctor High School.   A letter will be sent to the student’s home address indicating the time they must report for the performance test.  If you have questions or concerns, contact the summer school office at 315-368-6317 after July 8th.
