I'm very excited to welcome you to be a part of our school family this year! I can't wait to meet you and get to know you. To help you get to know me a little, let me tell you a bit about myself. I have lived in six states and even on an island named Guam! My husband, son, daughter, and I live in Durhamville. My children are named Sean and Meghan. We have a sweet dog named Annie. You may also have heard that I also have a turtle named Winifred who lives in our classroom during the school year. She loves kids and will be great fun to observe!
As for my background in teaching, I began in 2004 at Perry Browne Intermediate School in Norwich, NY. I spent a year there working with fourth graders who needed a little extra help in reading and math. In 2005 I began teaching 4th grade here at E.R. Hughes Elementary school in New Hartford. In 2019 I began working with 1st graders!
Just like you, I have hobbies to keep me busy. I love to read! Spending time cuddled up with a book and a cup of coffee is my favorite weekend activity! I also love to be outdoors. My family spends a month each summer visiting my relatives down in Tennessee. While we are there we swim and spend time with family. It is so much fun! Technology is also a love of mine. I help other teachers with their computers, printers, or other technology from time to time!
I hope that you found this information about me interesting and helpful in learning more about me. I look forward to getting to know you over this school year. I am positive that it will be a rewarding experience for us all. I have high expectations for you and cannot wait to see you achieve them!
Big Smiles from your teacher,
