Mrs. Kelly Paul

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Kelly Paul

Hello!  My name is Kelly Paul, and I am thrilled to teach 8th grade English at New Hartford Central School.  This is my 29th year of teaching, and I absolutely love what I do. It truly is a privilege and honor to work with New Hartford families and community members.

I am originally from Sherrill, NY, which is where many of my family members still live.  I graduated from VVS (I was Kelly Burns long ago), and then I graduated from SUNY Oswego in 1992. In 2007 my family moved to New Hartford, and we have been thrilled to be part of the Spartan community. Our two wonderful daughters, Madelynn and Christina, keep us quite busy. Madelynn graduated from Boston College in 2018...GO EAGLES, and is now at Boston University Medical School. Christina is also in Boston where she is a senior at Boston University...GO TERRIERS.

Chances are high that you have seen me out and about walking my golden retriever, Khaleesi. She loves going to sporting events and visiting with everyone.  She LOVES kids, and she'll be your best friend if you sit and pet her.

As you might imagine, I love reading and talking about books. My favorite place is the library, and my idea of a perfect day is being curled up with a good book. The novels we read in class are some of my all-time favorites, and the fact that I get to reread them each year is one of the millions of reasons why I love teaching English. Reading The Diary of Anne Frank while we did distance learning was one of the most moving experiences I've had with my students.  Books are the best!
In closing, I look forward to a fabulous school year with you. Thank you, in advance, for your hard work and effort.  Together, we will make sure that 2020-21 is a year you won't soon forget. I don't think any of us will EVER forget the spring of 2020, but I'm determined to make the rest of 2020 wonderful! 💛
