New Hartford Senior High has been recognized by US News and World Report as one of America's Best High Schools for 2019.
This past June, the Board of Regents passed a new regulation regarding the required amount of instructional time. Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, schools must meet a new minimum number of hours of instruction per year. In addition, NYSED has made it clear that lunch and passing time do not count toward the minimum number of hours.
In a year where students created their work almost completely through virtual instruction, New Hartford Art students took that challenge in stride and received a total of 14 awards. In addition, two Seniors also received special commendations for exceptional work.
The New Hartford Central School District budget for the 2020-2021 school year passed on June 16, 2020, by absentee ballot voting.

As of June 13, 2019, there is no longer a religious exemption to the requirement that children be vaccinated against measles and other diseases
